The new CoderChild Team

We just want to say that our the current CoderChild team is working flawlessly.

The Game Design is being done by Pedro Fuentes who is applying all his knowledge in game mechanins and design to the current projects.

In the other hand, Elena María García is in charge of the art department. She will bring the aesthetics and the graphic style and mood we want to identify our CoderChild projects.

Finally we want to mention that we’re not looking for collaboration any more, but in any case, thanks to all of you for your interest.

Elena and Peter at their greatest splendor

CoderChild busca soci@ o colaboración

  • Poder desplazarse a diario a Barcelona ciudad.

  • Artista 2D.
  • Artista animador 2D.
  • Artista 3D.
  • C++ Gameplay programmer.

    David.

    Still awaiting the approval

Long time ago we started our game, and in fact the game is finished long time ago!

This post is just to let you know that we’re still awaiting for the game approval. It’s taking some time but this is something usual when a project is being released on a new platform.

Hope we’re lucky enough and we can give you some good news in the next post!

    DTP:Cute Witches! Current State

In our previous post, we were talking about the things still to be done until the next milestone. So, we’ll use this list and we’ll stroke through the points already finished.

    • Concept approval of the game. Yessss, we’re finishing and it’s still not approved! We finally got the approval!
    • Write the electronic manual. It’s done!. We’re happy with the result : )
    • Electronic manual and ingame text localization.
    • Localization integration.
    • Content polish: some animations, graphics, sounds … just details. To be honest, this stage never finishes. There’s always something that can be improved… but there is a point we need to say STOP!
    • Game illustration. It’s done!
    • Game Logo. It’s done!
    • Prepare and send age rating material for ESRB, PEGI & USK
    • Bug fixig… yes we have some of them : / There is always some dumb bug there,
    • Implement save game module for the console. It’s done!
    • Integrate support for stereoscopic vision into the engine. It’s done!
    • Fill the paperwork for testing.
    • And finally…. Send to test for the game approval!
    • And then marketing assets elaboration… promotion, etc, etc, etc

As you can see, we’ve done many things since then.

This week we’ll finish the issues regarding localization and preparing the rating authorities materials, and also we’ll start preparing the paperwork for testing, continue with the polish and the bug fixing. There will always remain bugs, although they can be really dumb.

Take note of the processes involved during the development, and the names and jargon we use (milestone, rating certification, etc…). If you’re lucky enough to develop professionally a video game, these concepts will sure arise : )

Here at CoderChild, we would like to show you how internally this profession works, at least in small doses. And because of this, we do not hesitate showing you all this process, just in order to let you get an idea of how a console videogame is done.

Take a look at our published posts. You’ll find always some interesting details there to be taken into account : )

By the way! Do you know that may be this project will be released in Japan!?!

    See ya buddies!!

Current state of the DTP:CW project

We know these kind of posts are usually written on Friday but today we will explain a bit of the current status of the DTP:CW project.

Of course, this will not be de final name, but for now we prefer to refer to it in this way. At the specific moment we will unveil it’s name! : )

In the last 2 months and a half, we’ve been putting all our efforts in this project. Basically, we want to release a game for the digital market in the eShop (thanks to the publisher)

So first of all, we thought about the concept, and then we started the hard work.

At this moment, the game contents is already finished. We can safely say the completeness of the project is at 90% or even more, and the remaining work is what we’ll be working for the next weeks.
Right now we’re on the polish and preliminary test stage. This stage is specially sloooow : )

Now we’ll explain what exactly needs to be done until the following milestone:

    • Concept approval of the game. Yessss, we’re finishing and it’s still not approved!
    • Write the electronic manual.
    • Electronic manual and ingame text localization.
    • Localization integration.
    • Content polish: some animations, graphics, sounds … just details
    • Game illustration.
    • Game Logo.
    • Prepare and send age rating material for ESRB, PEGI & USK
    • Bug fixig… yes we have some of them : /
    • Implement save game module for the console.
    • Integrate support for stereoscopic vision into the engine.
    • Fill the paperwork for testing.
    • And finally…. Send to test for the game approval!
    • And then marketing assets elaboration… promotion, etc, etc, etc

Some of these things will be done by the publisher, and some others (most of them) are ours.

Did you guessed all the things need to be done in order to publish a game for a console?

Hope you’ve found interesting this post ! ^_^
